Terra Madre Europe 2026 opens with a special edition of the Slow Food Brussels Earth Market, bringing agroecology into the civic space. From noon onwards, come find good, clean and fair products and exchange directly with the people who grow and transform them with passion. In collaboration with the GASAP network, you will meet at the Market producers and processors from Belgium who, through their practices, advocate for a clean, fair, and agroecological model. Come talk with them, taste, and buy their products. Among others: Original Kefir, Cidrerie Iduna, La Fromagerie du Vieux Moulin, Booma Flora, Vert de Terre, Flora Viva, Hierba Buena, Urban Fermentory, Les Moutons Bruxellois, Mamaspe, Château de Berlieren, De Mederie, Fruitdas, Waaïn Kameraden, and many more!

The program unfolds with a series of participatory experiences designed for all ages:

13:00 – Taste Workshop

Discover Slow Food products, including those protected as at risk of extinction, and learn about their cultural and environmental value (approx. 1 hour).

14:00 – Escape Box: The Mysteries of Food Systems

A collaborative game exploring the origins of food and the challenges of sustainability. Open to participants aged 16+ (approx. 45 minutes).

14:00–17:00 – Collective Reading Session (“Arpentage”)

Organized by ASBL Quinoa, this participatory reading explores “Eat the Rich – Class Struggle Through Food” by Nora Bouazzouni. Participants collectively engage with themes such as food inequality, agro-industry, land grabbing, and the politics of taste, turning reading into a shared and empowering experience.

15:00 – Children’s Workshop: Awakening the Senses

Chef Philippe Renard leads a playful sensory journey helping children (6–10 years old) discover flavors and develop curiosity about food.

15:00 – Tasting Workshop “Taste Laboratory” – The Truth About Belgian Chocolate, with Mike and Becky and Booma Flora. From bean to bar, some of Brussels’ best chocolate makers invite you to taste their chocolate and share insights into their committed work for chocolate that is responsibly sourced, ethical, delicious, clean, and fair.

16:30 – Workshop for families: “Precious Water, Create Your Magic Potion!”

Led by Pauline Lemberger (Bouchée Double), families create infused drinks using herbs, fruits and vegetables, combining tasting, creativity and learning.

17:00 – Taste Workshop: Belgian Ciders

Hosted by Joran from the Cidrothèque, this tasting highlights the diversity and craftsmanship of Belgian cider producers.From 18:00, the Earth Market turns into a festive and participatory celebration with “Disco Cantine”. In a convivial and musical atmosphere, discover another side of collective kitchens, where Fabien and Maxime (Les Agités du Local) invite everyone to share food, ideas, and joy around the table, celebrating solidarity, cooperation, and the pleasure of eating together.
